Quick Monogram Coasters

I came up with this quick project after I saw some letter stamps in the dollar section at Michael’s craft store. I had some unused blank cork coasters at home and thought the stamps would be perfect to decorate them with. I bought the letters “E” for myself, and a “C” for my mom (which then also works for my last name initial!) They ended up pretty cute, and there would be many different ways you could make it your own, either through color combinations or other stamps. They would make a nice gift for Christmas, especially with a mug or package of tea!

What You’ll Need:
• Blank cork or cardboard coasters
• Letter stamp or stencil
• Acrylic paint
• Small paintbrush
• Paper (for practicing)

Directions:
1. Prepare your paint and carefully brush a coat over the stamp. It is best to practice on a separate paper so you can see how it will look and get a feel for how hard to press. If you are using a stencil, you will also want to practice brushing the paint on.

2. After practicing, repeat the process on your coaster. If your stamp has a few spots where the color doesn’t show up well, you can use your brush to hand paint it in.

3. Now you can use another color to create a pattern around the letter. I did simple metallic dots by dipping the end of my paint brush into the paint and randomly placing them all around.

4. Finally, allow time to dry and then use the coaster with your next beverage!

Here are some photos of the final product:
