I wanted to put together another “Little Finds Haul" before Christmas, just in case there are any last-minute stocking stuffer inspirations or maybe a few ideas for any post-Christmas shopping. Speaking of post-Christmas shopping though, my mom and I have a recent tradition of going to Home Goods the day after Christmas to check out all the Christmas items, which are 50% off during that first day. We have found quite a few great items and good deals during that sale. I never really get gifts cards or money for Christmas, so I don’t really do much post-Christmas shopping, but it can be a good time to stock up on a few items that weren’t priorities during actual Christmas shopping.
Getting back to these little items though, I wasn’t able to include everything I wanted to because I didn’t want to spoil any presents. I might just need to make another Little Finds Haul soon, but until then, here are a few items I have picked up recently and have been enjoying.
7X Knitted Beanie Hat With Rainbow Faux Fur Pom Pom: $13.00 on sale
Purchased online through ASOS
Being able to wear a cute beanie is one of the few things I enjoy about wintertime and cold weather, and this year I bought this one for a little extra pizazz. The rainbow pom pom is just such a fun idea and makes me feel a little more positive and cheerful whenever I have to pull on all my thick winter gear in order to go outside. The bright pastel, almost neon, rainbow pom pom also makes me think of a unicorn. I think hats can really be a fun way to add a little personality to winter attire. I have been seeing quite a few fun and cute beanies lately, and the ones with a pom pom are my favorite. It is always good to have a few options, so I may be tempted to get another fun one during after Christmas sales.
Jeepers Peepers Butterfly Shape Sunglasses: $11.50
Purchased online through ASOS
I suppose sunglasses aren’t overly winter, but once fall comes around you can get some really good deals on leftover ones from the summer. I think sunglasses still come in use during sunnier winter days and I loved the style and color of these. The butterfly shape is really different, and creates wide coverage over your eyes. The white and clear mix is also a bit unique, and goes with pretty much everything, including any snow on the ground.
Mermaid Makeup Brushes: $9.50 ($5 clearance, included in buy one, get one 1/2 off)
Purchased at Hot Topic
I bought a set of makeup brushes from Hot Topic quite a while ago on clearance, and they have surprisingly been really solid brushes for the price. I’m not a huge makeup person where I have have many specific brushes and sizes, plus brushes can also be quite expensive just for one brush or tool. When I saw these Mermaid brushes on clearance, I figured I should pick up another, especially because of the fun pattern and pretty teal ombre bristles. For me, what is so great about this set is the variety. All the brushes I need or use are in this set. Often there are too many similar brushes in a set that I don’t really make any use of, but these fit exactly my needs when it comes to the makeup I use. What I have also liked about these brushes are that considering they weren’t very expensive, they have held up well, the bristles haven’t fallen out at all, and the pattern on the handles hasn’t worn off.
Moana Mystery Minis: $8.90 (included in buy one, get one 30% off)
Purchased at Hot Topic
I have put a Funko Mystery Mini in all of my Little Finds Hauls, and this time I’m including these Moana ones. The style of these are adorable and go well the recent Villains and Princess Mystery Mini collections. I would like to get a few more, and hopefully get a Moana figure to go with my other princess figures. Besides these Hot Topic ones, there are also Walmart exclusive figures, and a regular set that can be found at other stores. I was really hoping for this Maui figure, which is a Hot Topic exclusive, so I was quite thrilled when I pulled him. He really is quite large compared to most Mystery Minis (especially next to Pua the pig here!) and has many awesome details on his tattoos.
Classic Disney Pins: $1.99 each or 2 for $3
Purchased at Hot Topic
What I really like about these pins are that they look a little bit retro by featuring the bright colors and classic Disney princess images. They sort of look like something I had as a child, and I really love the style they are in and that they don’t feature any words. These are great images for big Disney fans and are fun to pin onto a pencil case, bulletin board, makeup bag, etc.
Festive Dog Tote: $5.95
Purchased at Home Goods
When I saw this, I knew I needed it. I have a weakness for cute tote bags and I didn’t have a holiday themed one, until now. I have been using this for a few weeks now to carry different holiday projects, craft supplies, and presents to other people. I think a cute tote bag could be a great thing to give to someone with their gives inside, so they have something to reuse and enjoy instead of just a pile of wrappings. The different dogs in Christmassy attire is so cute and perfect for a dog lover, especially because I tend to see more cute cat-themed items more often than dogs.
NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Jam: $4.99
Purchased at ULTA
I felt like I needed something a bit more festive for my lips during the holiday season, and decided to try another NYX Butter Gloss shade. Not only are the names of these glosses so much fun, but I like that I can get a bit of color, without it being too crazy. The gloss goes on very smoothly and stays on pretty long, unless I eat or drink. It requires a little bit of effort to get the color even on the lips, because if you just swipe it on it may look a bit streaky, but the overall color is really pretty and the red is a prefect shade for Christmas.
Essie Nail Polish in Bikini with a Martini: $3.99
Purchased at Marshall's
This is more of a summery name, but I love iridescent nail polishes and this is such a nice subtle color that can also be worn under pretty glittery top coats for Christmas. Right now I have this polish on with big gold sparkles on top. Marshall's can be a good spot to find some more expensive brands for a more affordable price. I enjoy nail polish, but I have an unspoken $4 rule per bottle, so Essie is not typically something I even look at. This color instantly drew my attention though, with the pearly sheen glowing through the bottle, as well as the gold trim on the brush handle. The color will be especially nice when winter transitions to spring. I like that it isn't too flashy, and when it begins to chip it isn’t quite as noticeable.
Rainbow Shower Cap: $2.90
Purchased at Forever 21
Since I wash my hair every other day, I use shower caps quite often. I have had a few over the years from Forever 21, and they have worked out pretty well. No matter if I spend $1 on a shower cap or $6 (probably the most I’ve spent on one) they always seem to have an issue with the elastic band at some point, so I find stocking up on a few cheap ones when I find them to be a good idea. I also prefer when they are just plastic material, because if there is a fabric lining, I find that those get a bit icky and don’t dry out as easily as the only plastic shower caps. This cute pink rainbow pattern stood out to me as really fun and a cheerful item to use in the shower. Forever 21 had quite a few shower cap patterns in their stocking stuffer section of the store, including a pastel blue version of this pattern. There was also a bacon and eggs patterned one and one that looked like a panda when put on your head. This one in particular would go cute with the rainbow beanie hat as a stocking stuffer! Side note: This did smell especially strong of plastic when I took it out of the package. It is definitely headache inducing at first.
Scunci 8-Pack Mixed Knit Scrunchies: $5.79
Purchased at Walgreens
Other than choker necklaces, another item that recently seems to be coming back from the 90s are hair scrunchies. I’ve seen some fun velvet Christmas ones, and lots of really colorful ones, but I went with some basic black ones. I really like that these can go with anything and the different knit patterns on each of the scrunchies is a nice touch. This is just a great product to put your hair up at the end of the day with. My hair is finally getting longer to stay in a pony tail, so I will be using these quite a bit.
Bonus
Lip Smackers Holiday Lip Balms: $5 for 3 balms in a tube, on sale for $2.59
Purchased at Walgreens
Another makeup item I do love during Christmastime are Lip Smackers in holiday flavors. It just reminds me of being a kid, because my mom would always put a pack in my stocking. For the past few Christmases though, I have been picking up a pack for myself. My favorites when I was a child were the sugar plum and cookies and cream flavors. Sniffing those truly brings back so many memories. A few weeks ago I found a three pack at Walgreens on clearance, which contained Snowflake Cocoa, Holiday Punch, and Whipped Eggnog (the eggnog one really sold me). They have really been fun to switch off an on from and also sit under the NYX lip butter for some added moisture.
