Disney Haul 6

My favorite things to come upon while shopping are Disney-related items, especially if I find some special items at a good price. This list of items have been some of my favorite things in my life as of late. With the holidays I managed to collect quite a few items either as gifts or as after-Christmas deals. Here are the Disney goodies I have gotten over the past couple months!

Embellished Sweatshirts: $8-$12 (on clearance from full price of $42)
Purchased at the Disney Store
As soon as I saw these sweatshirts, I knew I needed one…and soon ended up with three. They were stacked in large piles on a table, and the one I was immediately drawn to was the blue one with Mikey and the gang. I loved the bright cobalt blue color, something I don’t really own in my closet, and I also loved the mixture of all the characters. I was also excited about the appliqué. I want to call it a “carpet," appliqué since that is what it reminds me of. I have a sweatshirt from a few years ago from Forever 21 with R2D2 that has that similar textured embellishment, which I think is much more unique than a regular flat screen image.

While I doubt these sweatshirts were ever sold at the full price of $42, they were on sale for $15.99 the day I bought the blue one. Using a coupon, I got it for about $12. A week or so later, after Christmas, I went back to the store to see if they were discounted any further and was pleased to see that they were only $10, so I picked up the Minnie Mouse and Stitch ones, and used a coupon again. There was also an Ariel, Grumpy, and solo Mickey pattern as well. Another nice aspect about these are the little slits on the sides that create a different look.

Baymax Winter Plush: $6.99 (was $14.95)
Purchased online through the Disney Store
I saw this plush at the Disney Store in November and fell it love with it. Baymax’s little winter hat and scarf were just too cute. I passed on him at the time though, because I couldn’t quite warrant buying it for the price, especially since he wasn’t really something I would have out all year. Once he was on clearance though after Christmas, I couldn’t pass him up. I’m really glad I got him in the end because he really cheers me up to see him on these winter days.

Animator’s Collection Pillows: $7.50 each (was $19.95)
Purchased online through the Disney Store
Similar to the Baymax plush, I saw these when they came out and fell in love, but thought it was a bit too expensive for what it was. I was very close to buying one a few months ago, but I am very happy I waited because I was able to buy two of them for less than one at the original price. These are pretty small, but so cute. There were four characters to choose from; Snow White, Rapunzel, Pocahontas, and Tinker Bell. I went with Snow White and Tinker Bell because I thought they were the most recognizable. I also liked that the Snow White one was vertical, while the Tinker Bell was horizontal, so they look nice sitting together on my bed. What is also a unique touch is that on the back of each pillow there is a polka dot pattern and a small pocket. The pocket seems perfect for kids when they are losing their teeth, but you could store other little notes or trinkets in their too.

Animator’s Collection Vinyl Bag: $4.95
Purchased online through the Disney Store
I saw this bag when I was about to place an order for the Animator’s Collection pillows, and couldn’t resist. I loved that it has many of the little drawings that I am so fond of in the Animator’s Collection on something useful. I especially loved that Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Lilo from Lilo and Stitch were on the bag, two characters I don’t have anything with from the collection. The bag is pretty small, making it suitable for a lunch bag, but so far I have been using it to store some craft items in. I would love for them to make a larger canvas style tote as well.

Big Al Ceramic Figurine: $22.99 (received $15% off)
Purchased through the Disney Parks App
I got this as a Christmas gift form my mom. Since this is a Disney Parks item, it was more spendy, but this brought back so many memories for me. The Country Bears was one of my favorite attractions at Disneyland as a kid and I loved that they had a figure for him, especially since the Country Bears aren’t overly popular (and Disneyland doesn’t have the attraction anymore). A few summers ago I bought a red ceramic castle at a Disney Store Outlet that was from the Disney Parks. This is quite similar to that, and I thought they would look nice on my bookshelf together. Getting Big Al was the first time I had a serious problem with an order though, first when he went missing for a few days after the UPS didn’t deliver it to the right address, and when he was tracked down and re-delivered his water jug was broken off and smashed. There was no free return shipping label (and this would have been very expensive to ship back), so instead we called and Disney kindly sent a new one at no charge. So while he was a bit of a pain to get, Big Al is safely on my bookshelf and a great addition to my Disney collection!

Art of Belle Mug and Compact Mirror (mug $14.95 and mirror $16.95, but bought on clearance for $9)
I shared that I purchased the Art of Bell sweatshirt back in July, but many weeks later I also picked these up these two items. I have a small collection of Disney mugs growing, and this rose mug felt like a perfect addition. It is my third Disney mug (aside from a Disneyland teacup my mom found at a thrift shop in perfect condition) and all of them so far have pastel colors in them, so I am trying to stick with that overall look. What I love about this mug is how simple it appears, but it is really quite detailed. I also like that it doesn’t scream Disney, and is more on the subtle side. I like to rub my hand over the mug because it just feels so shiny and the stained glass look is so pretty. It is also a perfect size, not too big, but not too small. While the price isn’t cheap, it is more affordable than most of the mugs you find at the Disney Parks. It really does make drinking tea or coffee a more special experience!

The compact mirror was still a bit on the spendy side, but it seemed like a both a practical and special accessory. I have this in my purse right now, and what I especially like about it is that the inside has both a regular mirror and a magnifying mirror. The front design is also so eye catching because of how it is cut like a gem and sparkles as you move it around.
