The first craft we have to share is a very simple one, but the final product can be used in many ways. These glittery clothespins could be adapted into magnets, used to hold up photos along a string, assist in keeping papers organized, or even given as a cute gift.
What You’ll Need:
• Wood clothespins (small or large)
• Glitter (fine or extra fine)
• Mod Podge
• Glue (preferably tacky glue)
• Small paintbrush
• (optional) Magnet strips
Directions:
1. Prepare the area by putting paper underneath the surface you will be working on. Get the glitter ready for use.
2. Using a paint brush, brush glue onto the top side of the clothespin.
3. Immediately follow by pouring and sprinkling the glitter onto the clothespin.
4. Shake and tap the clothespin to remove any excess glitter. The pile of glitter leftover can be used again.
5. Put clothespin aside for the glue to dry. Repeat the process for the next clothespin, using different colors or glitter types.
6. After the desired number of clothespins are completed, allow them to completely dry to the touch.
7. Brush Mod Podge over the dried glitter. This will preserve the glitter on the clothespin and stop glitter from falling off.
8. Once dried, magnet strips can be added to the back of the clothespins.
For my project, I used a mixture of small and large clothespins with extra fine glitter. I also did not use magnet strips this time.
Here are some photos of the final product:
The fun part is choosing what styles and colors of glitter to use! As you can see from my photos, I chose to try out a rainbow of colors (which is the best way to use glitter, don't you think?)
I have a few more glittery crafts to come, so stay tuned!
