Mini Pouches

I have always liked little bags, boxes, pouches, etc. and when I saw these denim pouches, I was excited and determined to find a purpose for them. These came in a pack of four, which I found at Hobby Lobby. I wanted to share what I did with them!

While still in the store, my initial thought looking at the pouches was that I could use two of them to store my Disneyland and Disney World pressed pennies. I have collected pressed pennies since I was pretty young, and have a few small books filled with them. For my Disney ones though, I thought it would be fun to do something a little different, and be able to store them with some of my other Disney treasures. So I used a stencil and a pencil to write the letters out onto the pouch. I then stitched the letters using red embroidery floss and then finished it up with a Mickey and Minnie Mouse button (which I also purchased at Hobby Lobby). I think they turned out pretty cute!

For the other two pouches, I didn’t really have a distinct idea, but ended up using some different items I had laying around to decorate them a bit.

I had recently cut up an old sweatshirt that I had from playing tennis in the 9th grade. I cut out my stitched last name that was on the corner of the front of the sweatshirt, and decided to stitch it on to the pouch. I then used a few buttons to give it a bit of sparkle.

For the final pouch I sewed on a few more buttons and added a few stitches for color. Then I added my two Disney Princess mystery buttons that I got from Hot Topic. I think this will be cute to stick in my purse and store little items like lip balm, or put in my backpack/tote bag to carry erasers, paper clips, etc.

Here are a few more photos the final products!
