Cheddar Apple Grilled Cheese

Yesterday I shared a quick recipe for a Melty Pear Jam Sandwich and today I have another easy, and fruity, sandwich. This is probably the sandwich I make the most at home. It is so simple, but just hits the spot so well. Although they are a bit pricey, this sandwich is especially delicious with Honey Crisp apples during this time of year! That extra bit of sweetness just makes it so perfect.

Pan: A cookie sheet or similar, with tin foil or parchment paper lining the pan
Oven prep: Turn on and preheat your oven broiler on high or low, depending on your  preference. You can also use a sandwich press or a toaster oven if you prefer.

What You’ll Need:
 Bread slices
• Cheese slices (sharp cheddar is my favorite for this)
• One apple, sliced thin
• (optional) Spinach leaves

Directions:
1. Lay down a bottom bread slice onto your lined pan.

2. Begin to lay down your ingredients, starting with a cheese slice. Then add some spinach leaves, apple slices, and top it off with more cheese.

3. Put your other slice of bread on top of your layers, and gently press down.

4. Place your pan into your preheated oven, and bake until the bread starts to brown and feels crisp to the touch. Carefully take your pan out of the oven, and turn your sandwiches over. Return the pan back to the over to allow the other side to toast and turn golden, making sure you cheese is melty before you take it out to eat.

5. With your sandwich toasted, serve immediately and enjoy!

Here are some photos of the final product:
