We had a few older items, but went on a bit of a hunt to find some new bits and bobs. Quite a few of the items came from the dollar section at Target, as well as a few things from Gordman’s, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, T.J. Maxx, and Home Goods.
When I was a kid we would always color eggs during the weeks leading up to Easter, and my mom would then hide them for me on Easter morning to find. After I had my basket full, she would present me with a new basket filled with Easter goodies (and for many years, a cute new Easter bunny stuffed animal). My favorite year though was when I very heavily hinted my desire for a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen doll. It was the first set of dolls they released, and I was a huge fan for all of my childhood. I will permanently remember the jingle of the commercial advertising the dolls for the rest of my life because I wanted them so badly (my favorite part was "Ride horse with Mary-Kate, she hits the trail with style! Ashley loves to dance ballet, she turns and twirls all day.") When I received my Easter basket that year, the Ashley Olsen doll was front and center. I was so excited and remember unboxing her and putting her in her ballerina outfit right away. I managed to convince my mom to buy Mary-Kate a few weeks later to complete the duo. They were my favorite dolls for years and I still have them in a box of my old toys. Every Easter I think off them and feel a pang in my heart recalling that special Easter basket.
While I haven't done any egg decorating or hiding for quite a few years now, we found some different plastic eggs to hide around the room. It really livened it up to have them peaking out from different spots. My favorite item has to be the two pillows my mom put together. I picked out a two-pack of Easter dish towels at T.J. Maxx, and my mom turned them into pillows. We used pastel-colored flower buttons to tie the two pillows together and I think the finished look turned out awesome (as well as one-of-a-kind!).

Combined with the warmer weather and sunnier days, the soft-hued colors really make the living room so relaxing and welcoming. I will be very sad to take down all these cute bunnies down, but I’m grateful for the spring season being fully in bloom.
Here are a few photos of how we decorated! (unfortunately, no Mary-Kate and Ashley dolls included)
Plenty of bunting...one of my favorite things!
My spring jars
I am especially fond of this strangely fuzzy duck
The pink glass bunny is filled with little fake eggs, but looks a lot like candy (which is very disappointing to me on a daily basis)
More fuzzies!
The first pillow converted from a plain white dishcloth
Second pillow converted from a dishcloth (the only thing on it to start with was the bunny)
