Little Finds Haul 1

Over the past month or so I have picked up quite a few little items while out and about or online. I thought I would share what I picked up, with some items being new to stores and others being good deals that I happened upon!

The Lion King Cosmetic Bag: $5.99 (originally $9.50)
Purchased at Hot Topic

Did I need another little bag? No. But The Lion King is less commonly found on merchandise, especially with young Simba and Nala! When I see Nala I always think about when I was a kid and McDonald’s Happy Meals featured The Lion King toys when the movie was released. I got all the characters from the collection, except for Nala. My mom and I managed to track her down at a garage sale some time later and were so thrilled at our find.

Tangled Mirror: $1.00 but got for 50 cents with buy one, get one 1/2 off clearance (was
originally $4.00)
Purchased at Hot Topic

Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies, and I wish they sold more items with the characters on them. When I saw this mirror in the clearance section, I couldn’t pass it up. Plus it was in good condition, given that it was in a container with a bunch of other clearance items. The lantern scene depicted on the mirror is such a perfect moment, and I wish that this movie was depicted in a ride at one of the Disney parks. This mirror is perfect for my purse, especially now that I have a Disney-themed wallet and coin purse in there.

Harry Potter Pin: $3.99
Purchased at Hot Topic

This is one of my favorite moments in the Harry Potter films. It is just so magical and I so wanted to board one of these boats and glide towards Hogwarts myself. Similar to the scene I just mentioned in Tangled, I wish they would have done a ride that featured this scene at one of the Universal Theme parks. I’m going to stick this pin on my bulletin board!

Pixar Pins: $1.99 or 2 for $3.00
Purchased at Hot Topic

It was a good day for me when it comes to lesser recognized films, because I found this Up pin that displayed the phrase “Adventure Is Out There”, which I thought would be perfect to add to my slowly growing Disney pin collection. I also found this Dory pin, which was a perfect way to celebrate Finding Dory coming out soon.

Mermacorno: $9.90
Purchased at Hot Topic

Mermaids are something I have always been fascinated by, ever since I was a young girl. I had a small collection of mermaid and fairy things on a shelf in my bedroom when I was young, and Ariel was my favorite Disney princess for many years because of my liking for mermaids. This Mermacorno was a bit more expensive than I would have liked, but once I did open it, I was very happy with the purchase. The figure is well made, with a good paint job, and really just so whimsical! The one I got is named “Marina” and she is mostly teal colored, with a purple mane, and metallic paint on her head and tail. She also has an anchor accent on the one side of her head, as well as a sailboat marking on her body. I placed my Mermacorno on my desk to add a little inspiration.

Through the Looking Glass Mystery Minis: $6.99 each
Purchased online through Amazon

I am fond of these Funko Mystery Minis, but I do have a limit. My rule is to get two, because I feel like you should be able to avoid doubles and you get a cool random variety of the figures (my rule of two did get broken with the Disney Princess Mystery Minis though, and will again when Harry Potter Mystery Minis come out!). Plus I don’t have space for that many on my bookshelf, so adding two is a perfect number. I felt like I really lucked out here, because in this set, there were quite a few I wouldn’t have been too excited to get. Getting Alice was prefect and I am quite fond of the White Rabbit. They look really great together!

Finding Dory Mystery Minis: $6.99 each
Purchased online through Amazon

Looking at the back of the box, if I could have had any of the characters at my choice, I would have chosen Mr. Ray and Marlin. So I felt very thrilled when I opened up my first box and got Mr. Ray. Even though I did not get Marlin in the second box, it was still special because I got Becky, who had a 1/72 chance. I have collected a fair share of these Mystery Minis and have never gotten such a “rare” character. So I felt pretty thrilled! I have seen Becky (who is a loon) in some of the previews for the film, and I am especially excited to see her character now that I have this figure.

Ant Man and Black Panther Pocket Pop!: $6.99 each
Purchased online through Amazon

I have collected Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Spiderman of these Pocket Pops. I have taken off the keychain on each (which is quite easy to screw off at the top) and placed them throughout my bookshelf. I love these little superheros, and thought that Ant Man and Black Panther were important for my collection. They are really detailed for such small figures and a great representation of the characters. I know that a Scarlet Witch Pocket Pop is coming out later this summer, and I think she will be coming to my bookshelf too.

Cubeez: $3.95 (was $7.95)
Purchased at Hallmark

I have had my eye on these Cubeez for a while, but thought $8 for one was too much. I had wanted two of these to store my Disney parks treasures, including mini figures, keychains, and pins I have gotten over the years. I kept passing on them, hoping instead there would be a sale or I would get a coupon I could use, but neither happened. A few weeks ago I went into Hallmark to find a Father’s Day card, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a sign for 50% off along a wall in the back. I swiftly walked over there because I saw some Cubeez looking my way. Alas, they really were 50% off! I was very excited, even though only select characters were there. Most of the Cubeez available on clearance were Muppets themed, but they had Woody, Buzz, and Sully for the Disney characters. I went with Woody and Sully in order to have a random grouping of characters. Each side of the tin box has a different design to create the character. I really liked Andy's mark on the bottom of Woody as well as the top of each tin, which featured Woody's hat and Sulley's horns. I have filled these up and stacked them on my desk (along with my Mermacorno!).

Lemon Coin Purse: $4.25  (was $9.50)
Purchased at Bath & Body Works

I was at Bath and Body Works during their Semi Annual Sale (which is when I go stock up on soaps) and saw this while getting in line for the register. With a large handful of soaps in my hands, I knew instantly that I had to have it. I am a sucker for food themed items, and this sparkly lemon was so cheerful! The zipper is nice and sturdy, plus the little green leaf at the top of the coin pure really finishes it off.

Hand Sanitizer: $1.75 or 5 for $6.00
Purchased at Bath & Body Works

Bath and Body Works hand sanitizers always seem to have a large variety of new scents to go with the season, and I picked up a few new ones for summer. I was excited for this “Cherry Champagne Toast” scent, since one of my favorite hand sanitizers I have ever got at Bath and Body Works was cherry scented (it was called “Black Cherry Merlot”). I stocked up on a few of the cherry ones and also got one called “believe”, which caught my eye because of the mermaid tail on the package. The scent is pink citrus, which is a nice, fresh scent. There is also glitter in the sanitizer, which isn’t my favorite, but it does go well with the mermaid theme!
