This Little Finds Haul is focused almost entirely on stationary, which is one of my favorite things to look at and purchase. There are always so many cool items, but often they can be pretty spendy. I love searching for deals as well as looking for cool illustrations for inspiration. Journals, cards, stickers, and paper patterns can have so many unique and amazing artwork on them, allowing for people to find things that really fit their personality. Here are some of the things I’ve picked up the last couple of months!
Llama Tote Bag: $2
Purchased at Typo
Typo is one of my favorites spots for stationary items or little gifts. Near the checkout, they always have tote bags (or other items like water bottles, bracelets, etc) and when you purchase something, they ask if you want to purchase one (which the money from goes to support their Cotton On Foundation). My mom and I have each purchased a tote from them in the past and were really happy with them, because they are still in good condition and are useful to bring along on trips. When I saw this pattern filled with llamas and owls, I fell in love! I especially like the pops of neon pink.
Movie Notebook: $6.95
Purchased at World Market
I picked up this notebook to write down the movies I see in the theater. For about 10 years now I have written down the date and movie for each film I see in the theater. It’s starting to become fun to look back to a few years ago and remember attending a movie, or have a memory return of going with someone and what else we did that day. Even just remembering a silly movie or the time surrounding a movie release is also fun to reminisce. I like that this notebook is actually themed around movies, with little graphics on each page and quotes throughout. I transferred the movies and dates from my old notebook (which was very plain) into this and added some stickers to decorate. My favorite part is this notebook is the little “fin” on the back.
Sticker Books: (Unicorn) $6.99 (used 40% off coupon) (Watercolor) $2.50 (originally $9.99, on clearance plus additional 1/2 off)
Purchased at Michaels (Unicorn) and Typo (Watercolor)
I’ve always been fond of sticker books and sets. When I “graduated” from kindergarten, my mom let me pick out one gift at Costco, and I went with a huge Mrs. Grosssman's brand sticker set. That set literally lasted me like seven years, but I eventually used them all up. Sticker books can be quite expensive though, so I was excited to find few deals with these. The unicorn/mermaid/rainbow book is such a fun mixture and the watercolor book has a lot of general stickers that can go with a lot.
Woodland Monogram Journal: $9.95 (originally $26, on clearance plus additional 20% off)
Purchased at Anthropologie
I’ve always been drawn to initials, especially on jewelry or notebooks. When I saw these journals, I was instantly in love because of the concept of the woodland creature formed into a letter. Each journal had a different colored fabric cover, as well as a different color on the binding. A gold letter was printed on the binding and the edge of the pages had a pattern with leaves. All of the woodland illustrations were so cute and creative (there were deer, dragonflies, birds, snails, hedgehogs, otters, etc), and had the look of being painted on. I’m not completely sure what the creature on my journal is, but I think it might be a mink. I want to use this for quotes and little sketches. The journal does feel quite stiff at first, but has slowly broken in. The only downside is that it does not lay flat. It has nice textures though on the cover and paper, and I also like that the paper is unlined.
Dog Sticky Notes: $4.99 (on clearance from $10)
Purchased at World Market
Since I love dogs, this set of dog-themed sticky notes is both adorable and useful. I like that the sticky notes are secured into a flat folder, which makes it easy to stack on top of and bring along with other books or store in a binder. I love the little illustrations and the variety of styles. I think the little tabs will be especially useful!
Washi Tapes: (White/multi colored glitter and silver/gold holographic) $2.50 (originally $9.99, plus additional 1/2 off), (Colored holographic) $1, (Gold hearts and rose gold hearts/succulents) $2 (80% Valentine clearance)
Purchased at Typo (White/multi colored glitter and silver/gold holographic) , Target (Colored holographic), and Hobby Lobby (Gold hearts and rose gold hearts/succulents)
I didn’t really “get” washi tapes for the first few years that they started to get popular here in America. I finally got a set about a year ago and started to like it after I played around with them. I picked up some more that I found at a really cheap price to add to my little collection. I’m really impressed with the quality of the glitter and holographic sets from Typo the most. I like style and colors that sort of go with anything, and a lot of these fit that. With these, I probably have too much tape to use it all, but it is fun to use in notebooks, journals, and cards alongside other stickers.
Papers: (Marble) $2.50 (Holographic) $4 (on sale for 50% off)
Purchased at Joann’s Fabrics
I was drawn to these little paper packs because of the unique patterns. There is no texture to the papers, but they make you want to reach out and touch them. I like small-sized paper packs because I can use them for more of my projects, without having a huge amount to store away or too much paper that I never find a use for it all. I also like these packs because they are different variations of the same theme. Many patterned paper packs tend to have too many patterns that I don’t want to use, amongst the ones I really love, making for a lot of paper being wasted. I just used both of these sets to make some cards and help wrap a few presents.
