Music Review: Foster the People's Sacred Hearts Club

This album was the only one I purchased this past summer, and became my primary source for music for many weeks after purchasing it. It had a good overall sound for summer and because useful to listening on repeat during a road trip. Although the band is still most known for the success of “Pumped Up Kicks” from the album Torches, they have continued to develop their sound on both their previous album, Supermodel, and now this. While the band started out with a heavy electronic vibe, they drifted away from that element with their last record. Sacred Hearts Club combines the electronic sound they were so successful at, with a bit more smoothness and spunk. The album isn’t particularly long, but it flows perfectly together. I have listened to the complete listing of songs in order many times, and each slides right into the next with ease. The lyrics touch on current feelings many may have about the world around them, but also maintains a positive outlook that we may all need.

Must-hear tracks:
Doing It For The Money
Sit Next To Me
Lotus Eater
Loyal Like Sid & Nancy
